The area of responsibility includes the general strategy of occupational safety in the company with setting priorities, process safety management from the earliest planning stages to project completion, work preparation and supervision of safety execution in the field.
Detailed tasks specific to the project:
- Preparatory risk assessments with action planning and operating instructions
- Implementation of safety-related aspects in construction site set-up and project execution planning
- Assistance with and implementation of instructions
- Escape and rescue planning with exercise supervision
- Safety inspections, processing of near misses and accident analyses
- Evaluations and recommendations for the safe use of hazardous substances
- Training junior staff in project execution for tunnel construction, civil engineering and special civil engineering with regard to occupational safety when handling specialised equipment
Specialist tasks:
- Planning and construction are not exceeded of customized escape chambers for tunnel construction in cooperation with the mechanical engineering department
- In-house dust measurements to quickly and independently ensure the limit values in tunnel construction and to optimize the avoidance of pollutants
- Collaboration in the training of tunnel construction technicians as part of the training efforts of the ATA (Austrian Tunnelling Association) in the field of occupational safety
- Collaboration in national research projects on dust control and prevention
- Participation in Austrian and German committees and institutions for the creation of guidelines on occupational safety
