Ore deposit (layer thickness 12–18 m) made of oolitic brown iron at the
Late Jurassic in a depth of 800 – 1.400 m, occured 150 million of years
ago. Above this layer there is a sealing top layer of mudstone situated
with a thickness of 160 – 400 m.

Technical Data

Construction of fire walls below ground in the workshop and the oil depot both situated on level 3 at shaft mine Konrad.

7 fire walls
thereof 6 walls approx. 24 m³
1 wall approx. 12 m³
fire-resistance class: F90

Execution:
• masonry made of sand-lime brick on either side as exposed brickwork with smoothed joint, masonry thickness 24 cm
foundation on strip foundations
• fire protection transition areas to the rocks by construction of cuts in the existing reinforced shotcrete lining.
• fire protection sealing of the joint by shotcrete/ sand-lime brick and insulation wool, mineral fireboard used as separation wall
and polymeric dispersion that is containing water and is permanently elastic and plastic.
• reinforcement of the masonry by using vertical and horizontal U-beams made by sand-lime brick and with joints to anchors in the rocks.
Support of the U-beams by using temporary steel constructions will be necessary around the gates.
